What we do

RMHA supports mental health through the raising of funds. Those funds are then equitably distributed into community-connected organisations based in often under-resourced areas of Australia.

This fundraising happens through word-of-mouth and face-to-face interaction, as well as with the assistance of newer technologies like the internet and social media. The proceeds are then distributed to regional mental health advocacy groups and providers who are better positioned to deliver services directly to those in need. RMHA is motivated to enable these groups to do their jobs more effectively and efficiently.

Additionally, our fundraising helps promote social good and associated causes to further propagate equity and equality in Australia for all Australians.

Our values offer further insight into what we do:

  1. Ensuring the adequacy and extent of mental health services in regional Australia;
  2. Improving the quality of life of those affected by mental illness;
  3. Protecting the dignity of those people with mental illness;
  4. Promoting and protecting the human and civil rights of those we assist;
  5. Advocating and providing a voice for those with a mental illness who have no voice;
  6. Lifting the profile of mental illness in Government Budget considerations;
  7. Being inclusive of all, including LGBTIQ and Indigenous communities;
  8. The promotion of social good and socially good causes, as deemed inherent by these values.
